I looked and could not find a suitable childrens book about being a lawyer, so I wrote Sara Rose, Kid Lawyer. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it and reading it to children.

Educational and entertaining

As a lawyer who has practiced for 25 years, I find that it's sometimes difficult to explain to kids (especially my own) what I actually do for a living. Enter Spencer Aronfeld, with Sara Rose, Kid Lawyer. Finally, a book that explains the practice of law in a kid-friendly and entertaining way.

Because I'm the author of The Writer's Guide to the Courtroom: Let's Quill All the Lawyers (Get It Write), I also blog and teach about using the law in writing. I talk about how writers get the law right and wrong in their books and screenplays. This book is definitely safe for lawyers to read to their kids. From the amount of time it takes to become a lawyer to the types of legal practice, Sara Rose gets the details of law practice right. And unlike certain kid lawyers in books who shall not be named, Sara Rose handles a "case" without crossing over into the dread area of unauthorized practice of law.

This is a great book for lawyer parents to explain what they do, and for kids who are interested in learning more about being a lawyer.

Great book for great kids!

This book has beautiful illustrations and its put together very well. Im not a pro on children's books but I would say the age for this book is probably more like 7-12 years old. The text is lengthy so its not really for reading to your kid. That being said, its a great book and the money goes to a great cause. The author is doing wonderful things and this book is a great asset to his non-profit organization. The story is excellent and really shows how children can make a difference in this world if they stand up for what they believe in. Highly recommend!

Adorable and well-done

When author Spencer M Aronfeld asked whether I'd be interested in reviewing a children's book about lawyers, I couldn't resist. I had never seen one before and was curious to see how he could pull this off.

Well Aronfeld *does* pull it off. Quite well, in fact.

Sara Rose, Kid Lawyer tells the story of Sara Rose, a little girl who likes to argue. Because of that, people tell her she should be a lawyer when she grows up -- many current lawyers and law students may relate.

But after meeting a real live attorney at her lemonade stand, Sara quickly learns there's a lot more to being a lawyer than arguing, and that even arguing has a purpose. Soon thereafter, Sara sees an injustice at her school and works hard to influence a fair outcome, even learning about the appellate process along the way.

This is a really cute, well-done book that covers an impressive amount of ground in its thirty or so pages. I love that important concepts surrounding the legal profession are broken down into easy-to-understand terms and examples -- and then demonstrated for the reader.

Sara Rose, Kid Lawyer should be in every elementary school library and would make a great gift for that special, perhaps argumentative kid in your life. I'm giving it five stars.

An excellent car worth an excellent book.

This is certainly not one of those one model type of books that is based mainly on material from the standard press kits. On the contrary: written by John McCormick, a notable automotive journalist (CAR, Auto Week, Ward's Auto World), this book tells the complete story about the development of the Evoq prototype from 1999 into the production XLR as introduced in 2003. The XLR, already shown to the press at a preview at Pebble Beach 2000, was the first of the `Art and Science' style vehicles for Cadillac and presented a major `break through' for this American marque. Stylish, luxurious and sophisticated with lots of technical wizardry it received an enthusiastic reception by most of the American as well as the European press. Such a car, meant to revive the Cadillac brand, is certainly worth a book, and it's a good one. It is well written with excellent detail and beautiful photographs, on 128 pages of high-quality paper, including short interviews with the major players in the design, development and production stages of the XLR and these dedicated people are honest and open enough to not hide the problems and the issues they were facing during this challenging process. But they managed to meet those challenges and introduce a real beautiful car giving Cadillac a totally new design vocabulary which can carry them through for the next 10 years or more.

Chapters are well spread over Driving (a test drive by Andrew Frankel), Renaissance (the new Brand philosophy), Design (from Evoq to XLR), Engineering (testing at the Nürburgring), Interior (Bulgari and Eucalyptus wood) and Marketing and each of them give lots of detail. I really enjoyed every page of it. It is a valuable addition to anyone's library who is interested in American cars but for Cadillac enthusiasts it's a must! A most welcome tribute to a daring Cadillac design statement.

It is fine for the slides it contains although the causes is fair; because Goljan Pathology should be seen for a better list of causes like sideroblastic anemia causes missed the Lead.
If any one like me seeking for USMLE of course what he need is a short review book with good pictures and that is what it is,

Great literature ? I think not...but fun none the less!

So yeah. Its not great literature. Did you really expect it to be? Its a chapter book based on a tv cartoon--adjust your expectations and you'll be fine.

My son has read it twice and its in his pile of books to read (for a third time). What more can you say than it has Ben 10 and encourages hard-to-please boy readers in the 7-10 age group to pick up a book instead of a video game and read!

Jacques Paul Couturier est chef du secteur des sciences humaines au campus d’Edmunston de l’université de Moncton. Ses champs d’intérêt principaux sont l’histoire de l’éducation au Nouveau-Brunswick, l’historiographie et l’écriture de l’histoire. Jacques Paul Couturier est membre du conseil d’administration de l’Institut d’histoire de l’Amérique française.Diplômé du baccalauréat en études françaises de l’université de Moncton, Réjean Ouellette travaille dans le domaine de l’édition depuis de nombreuses années. Il a notamment été réviseur et chargé de projets pédagogiques aux éditions d’Acadie, où il a publié, en collaboration avec Jacques Paul Couturier et Wendy Johnston, « l’Expérience canadienne, des origines à nos jours » et « Un passé composé ». Il a aussi participé à la production de matériel didactique varié pour le compte d’éditeurs scolaires du Québec. Après avoir séjourné en Amérique latine, il est revenu s’établir à Moncton, où il prête maintenant ses services à titre de réviseur, traducteur et conseiller indépendant.Wendy Johnston a obtenu un doctorat de l’université de Montréal. Elle est experte-conseil en histoire et chargée de cours à l’université du Nouveau-Brunswick.
